The world outside the focus zone is often ignored, existing only atmospherically. This image is a sample from an ongoing project that explores the beauty of the unseen through purely photographic means such as intentional out-of-focus, overexposure, and slow shutter speed.

One interesting visual phenomenon is that figures may connect and merge with one another when out of focus. In this example, it is the door frame and the walking figure.
